Chief Financial Officer
Steven Hickson serves as the Chief Financial Officer for AccuWeather and leads all financial activities of the company, including strategic and financial planning, while serving on the Executive Steering Committee and supporting all fundamental company initiatives.
AccuWeather, with global headquarters in State College, PA, now reaches nearly 2 billion people worldwide every day through smart phones, tablets, wired and mobile internet sites, radio, television, newspapers, and the AccuWeather Network, in addition to serving over 245 of Fortune 500 companies as well as thousands of businesses worldwide.
Hickson has a proven track record of driving organizational growth worldwide in finance and operations management. He is a proven leader and has helped establish strategic partnerships for businesses around the world including significant expansion in Latin America, Asia, and Europe.
As CFO for Latin American Pay Television Service (LAPTV), a pay television joint venture owned by 21st Century FOX, NBC Universal, Paramount Pictures, and MGM, Hickson played a key role in developing the company from a start-up to significant revenue and market position gains, in addition to transitioning to a major global media company. During his tenure with LAPTV, Hickson effectively managed an executive assignment for FOX International Channels Asia. Based in Hong Kong with Pan-Asia responsibility, he led the development of the strategic plan and launch of the company’s first TV Everywhere platform in Asia, and the re-launch of premium movie channels category. At Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., he participated in the formation of two internal start-up service areas, including the worldwide information technology services organization.
Hickson has an MBA from IESE Business School, Barcelona, as well as a degree in Accounting from North Carolina State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is also fluent in Spanish.
